And I keep seeing increasing flashes of His Likeness . . . through HIS miraculous work, no doubt.
Or is it the RC consensus that such a task is tooooo impossible for even Almighty God?
BTW,
I thought the magicsterically required response was quite delayed in this case. Perhaps someone should check the health of the communications circuit.
I mean, when the button is pushed and the expected response is not rapidly forthcoming . . . someone ought to check SOMETHING!
Ah, yes.
Abject sneering mockery of me and my faith.
Thank you for continuing the pattern.
You look in the mirror and see God?
Oh my.
LOL.
That was an improvement.
Perhaps those endless humor classes have had an influence after all.
You think it’s a game.
You think it’s funny.
You look in the mirror and see God?
Oh my.
= = =
RC’s don’t?
OH, DEAR ME!
I hope the circuit’s not broken . . . I wonder what could break that circuit . . .
Perhaps a focus quite askew from God alone?
Perhaps bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, hate, resentment, self-righteousness?
I wonder, what on earth could it be?
You think it’s a game.
You think it’s funny.

I do confess . . . I have a strong bias.
I believe that Scripture means what it says when it declares that the Joy of The Lord is to be our strength.
. . . and, that bias goes well with another bias . . .
that we are to avoid thinking of ourselves more highly than we ought.
. . . and a 3rd bias . . .
. . . that the capacity to laugh at ourselves and our silliness is an important part of both of the above.
. . . and a 4th bias . . .
that the Chinese are right—that the onlooker sees the game the best . . .
. . . coupled with a 5th bias . . .
That, often, one’s opponents are best at articulating things most warranting and most in HIGHEST PRIORITY NEED of being laughed at.
. . .
You look in the mirror and see God.
Crack open your DSM-IV and look up malignant narcissism.
Not worth the bother.
The Lord and I know my psychology backwards and fowards, inside and out.
Besides, that one doesn’t fit by a wide margin.
So much for RC edifice differential diagnosis.
However, I’d give you a 10 on scoring quite solidly another personal assault.
You claim to be a trained professional.
Get help.
I stand by my posts.
You, however, do not...like your refusal to apologize for falsely implying I referenced J*** C**** when I demonstrably did not do so.
I missed that.
Thanks.
1Ki.18:27 is about Elijah and the false prophets of Baal.
You are thinking about 1Sam.18:27.
But even if you wanted to use the old way of looking at the Books, he still had the wrong chapter, 17,(dealing with David and Goliath), not 18.
The Bible calls those books, 1 and 2nd Samuel and 1st and 2nd Kings.
They used to be known as the 4 books of Kings.
Quiet down, please.
The Bible calls those books [X ...] They used to be known as [Y].
I am sure this is inadvertent but still a perfect illustration of how Protestantism views the Holy Scripture.
Quiet down, please.

Is there a new RC competition for Jr Earth Mommy?

I don’t recall placing any of my training programs under your supervision.
Prayer of Pope Pius XII
Composed for the Marian Year, 1954
ENRAPTURED by the splendor of your heavenly beauty, and impelled by the anxieties of the world, we cast ourselves into your arms, O Immaculate Mother of Jesus and our Mother, Mary, confident of finding in your most loving heart appeasement of our ardent desires, and a safe harbor from the tempests which beset us on every side.
THOUGH degraded by our faults and overwhelmed by infinite misery, we admire and praise the peerless richness of sublime gifts with which God has filled you, above every other mere creature, from the first moment of your Conception until the day on which, after your Assumption into heaven, He crowned you Queen of the Universe.
O CRYSTAL Fountain of faith, bathe our minds with the eternal truths! O fragrant Lily of all holiness, captivate our hearts with your heavenly perfume! O Conqueress of evil and death, inspire in us a deep horror of sin which makes the soul detestable to God and a slave of hell!
O WELL-BELOVED of God, hear the ardent cry which rises up from every heart in this year dedicated to you. Bend tenderly over our aching wounds. Convert the wicked, dry the tears of the afflicted and oppressed, comfort the poor and humble, quench hatreds, sweeten harshness, safeguard the flower of purity in youth, protect the holy Church, make all men feel the attraction of Christian goodness. In your name, resounding harmoniously in heaven, may they recognize that they are brothers, and that the nations are members of one family, upon which may there shine forth the sun of a universal and sincere peace.
RECEIVE, O Most Sweet Mother, our humble supplications, and above all obtain for us that, one day, happy with you, we may repeat before your throne that hymn which today is sung on earth around your altars: You are all beautiful, O Mary! You are the glory, you are the joy, you are the honor of our people! Amen.
