The practice of Blood Atonement. Not of Christ’s atonement for you, but the early Mormon belief that one had to shed their very own blood to atone for certain sins (mainly murder and adultery)

LDS deny it ever occured or was taught, but the evidence is extremely compelling.

How could murder “atone” for a sin? I don’t get that part.
