As I have explained on two other occasions to you, the men to whom He quoted the Psalm were taking up stone to kill Him for saying He is the Son of God. Jesus likened these men to the ones written about in Psalm 82, the wicked judges. Now, if you really want to be analogized to wicked men who judged wickedly and who were going to stone Him, well, we cannot stop you. But we can pray for you to have His light shine into the dark recesses which make such wrong applications as you keep insisting on.
That my friend is why Mormonism is a deceitful and fraudulent religion. That is why I left. When I was a young Mormon, I discovered that the LDS Church was actively involved in suppressing information about its history and changes in doctrines and errors of the Prophets. Now that it is all out in the open (thanks to the Internet), they either lie and deny that anyone ever taught that stuff, or they downplay its significance.
2 Nephi 2
10 And because of the intercession for all, all men come unto God; wherefore, they stand in the presence of him, to be judged of him according to the truth and holiness which is in him. Wherefore, the ends of the law which the Holy One hath given, unto the inflicting of the punishment which is affixed, which punishment that is affixed is in opposition to that of the happiness which is affixed, to answer the ends of the atonement
11 For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my first-born in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither sense nor insensibility.
12 Wherefore, it must needs have been created for a thing of naught; wherefore there would have been no purpose in the end of its creation. Wherefore, this thing must needs destroy the wisdom of God and his eternal purposes, and also the power, and the mercy, and the justice of God.
So all your boogieman tackic are falling short of the mark!:)
I don’t pretend to understand everything, and I consider my self a believer. Why would you want the meaty mysteries thrown at you, other than to give you more ammunition to hurt the faith of others?
Matthew 13:
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
It looks like I’m on the verge of breaking my goal to not be contentious, so with that, I bid all a good night. Perhaps by morning there will be another 250 posts, so I can skip to the end again in order to have a real life. ;-)
Good night.
Pax vobiscum
So you are not going to answer the question, right?
Gee you are pretty thick PM, this has been answered many times over the years, everything is archieved here FR, I am sure you will find several who have answered this question~
So you're not going to answer the question either, right?
Gee, Mormons refusing to answer questions about their beliefs. Who woulda thunk?
1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
And then (again) in verse six, he calls then “children of the most high” in relation to the “gods” reference.
Thanks for your interpretation, but putting the NT reference completely aside, I will stick with that of C.S. Lewis and other Christian Scholars over those who continually try to belittle and destroy the faith of their fellow man.
Good night to you too.
Why do you know something we don’t?
When he spoke about the Father having a father, and that God was not always God, but became God in the same way that good Mormons like you will someday becomes Gods, was he telling the truth?

That is small “g” quit embellishing PM!
No I answer a lot of questions to folks who are sincere!
The bottom line is there something very wrong with Mitt Romney OR they would not have elected him..
Psalm 82:1- A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.
I'm disappointed in your satisfaction to use such a poor translation of the Hebrew, seven. Who IS The Mighty?
~”Most of what you call distortions and misrepresentations is linked to sources, many of whom are official LDS sources.”~
Yes, in many cases... when those sources are removed from context. That seems to be the particular delight of the anti-Mormon - find a passage which, when stripped of the surrounding meaning and additional explanation, can be twisted to support the assertion. It’s a tactic of the simple-minded, but hate does that to an intellect.
A single ping ... to invite you to offer a better English translation of the Hebrew offered in Psalm 82.
You do exactly what you are accusing ... and that is an indicator of a not so good spirit directing your remarks.
~”And yet you weave and bob and wordwarble rather than simply enumerate the heresies you claim exist in Christendom proper.”~
Wordwarble... Very nice word. I’ll have to remember that.
I am refraining from listing the very many doctrinal flaws that are existent in mainstream Christianity, because I have no personal stake in discrediting mainstream Christianity. The reverse cannot be said about the anti-Mormon. Is this difficult for you to relate to? I hope not.
I do have a personal stake in defending Mormonism - principally that I consistently learn more and more which reinforces and strengthens my own beliefs.
Perhaps that is a foundational motivation for the anti-Mormon as well? Perhaps such a person is not truly trying to convince others of the falseness of Mormonism, but is really only trying to convince him or herself? It can’t be an accident that a disproportionate number of ex-Mormons become ardent anti-Mormons. There’s a lot of convincing to be done there, after all.
It’s a pity that such a person is so weak in his or her own faith that he or she finds it necessary to try to undermine the joy that others have found in order to find his or her own.
