My tagline has little to do with Mormonism. It has more to do with this site blindly getting behind Fred Thompson. Nothing against Fred but he didn't get any traction. Many still hope for a brokered convention in the hopes Fred will carry the day. I think FreeRepublic has become too inflexible, unwilling to look at the big picture. I've been a freeper for a long time and I remember the day when this site had some real influence. Do you think anyone in the conservative movement gives a damn about what FreeRepublic has to say anymore? I wish the site could adapt to the changing political climate. In doing so we could have more influence on public policy and the elections. As it now stands, FreeRepublic is looked upon as a site where hate is spewed and nobody pays any attention. Sad but true.
It seems this LDS Devotional thread has deteriorated into a Free Republic hate fest.

I completely agree. The worst of the right seems to have claimed an audience here.
