My husband actually led a man to the Lord who was in a coma when he went to visit him, the man woke up, asked Jesus into his life, and slipped back into the coma. No works there. Only faith in our dear Lord and Savior. God’s grace is so wonderful.

I think the problem for those who disagree is they believe there are intermediaries between us and God and lack confidence in the Holy Spirit. In my limited experience I've seen Christians change over time. Of course there are ups and downs but the overall trend is discernible. The works follow Faith. They reflect it.

This is where I begin to wonder what the point of these threads is.

The works follow Faith. They reflect it.

I don't know a single thinking Catholic who thinks otherwise.

Absolutely. Many people do great works, even as unbelievers, but they don’t have Christ. Works without faith is dead. Faith without works is dead. God makes that very clear. But I don’t believe He meant that you had to have works to be saved.
