There’s your problem. Churches don’t receive faith, people do. The Church received the NT which the Apostles and others wrote with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Dream on. The NT was written pieacemeal and kept in churches, not distributed to the people. Are you just making up history as you go along?

The Church decided on the NT (as well as the Old). It decided which versions and which translations of which books were Scriptural, which were good but not Scriptural and which were to be discarded.
We have either the Christian Church or Gnosticism. There is no other way outside of atheism.
