I know others who have read the Book of Mormon and did not accept it. Often, there were outside influences that had more to do with it.

Please explain that statement. WHAT outside influences? And are you saying that those who reach a different conclusion are somehow not following your instructions correctly or they would reach the same conclusion you have?

Outside influences can include family members that are not LDS. Personal struggles with keeping the commandments of the LDS church, often these include paying tithing, keeping the word of wisdom, or staying chaste. Wanting the approval of the world instead of joining the Church. Accepting what LDS antagonists say about the Church.

In the case where one believes that their prayers were answered that the Book of Mormon is not true, then they should follow their answer. Only God knows why He allowed them to receive such an answer. I cannot speculate what that reason would be.
