LDS doctrine does not teach to worship Jesus Christ. Any praying to Christ, which is incidental, does not support your position that it is an LDS doctrine. It is easy to confuse praying to God in the name of Jesus Christ with actually praying to Christ by some.

Mormon Doctrine is not the authority on LDS beliefs and teachings. It does not have the LDS Church’s stamp of approval as you suggest. Members are free to publish their own books. Given Elder McConkie’s status as an Apostle and position of authority within the Church, it is only natural that his work is scrutinized more closely for errors, but it doesn’t mean he was writing for the church or that his work is actually endorsed by the church.

My apologies.
