That’s specious. It is true that Mormons are not necessarily racist. They do welcome black people and I believe they were AGAINST slavery; however, that doesn’t change the fact that their “scriptures” teach that black people were given their black skin as a result of a curse.
They made some major changes in their position back in 1978 when they started to expand their religion into Africa. They can say they welcome black people but they cannot change their history and “gospel”.
I guess I prefer the idea that God gave black people their skin color to better protect themselves from the scorching sun...
