This is where you lose them. They want to hijack Christian terminology so they can confuse you when you try and confront them so they can say “we believe the same thing”. No we do not.

Exactly. I have found that most cults and heretical teachings that sound right in many ways often just use the same terminology but with a totally different foundation. You have to look at the character of the god they serve. If it doesn't match up with the God Almighty of the bible, then no matter what they say, they are speaking of false gods. And mormonism speaks of a false god.
