On the Religion Forum, any thread designated devotional, prayer or caucus is protected from challenges. It is considered "closed" as if it were occuring behind the closed doors of a church.

To be designated a caucus, the article and posts must not compare theologies and/or speak in behalf of another confession. If it does, the thread must be opened, so that rebuttals can be made.

If this thread had been marked "[Catholic Caucus]" - none of these disputes would have been posted.

All other threads are "open" for religious debate.

Religious debate is not ecumenic - so posters should expect contention on open threads. Those who are offended by such disputes can always find "safe harbor" on the closed threads.

It's all so....so.....logical.

Actually, that's not so, not always.

There was a disastrous thread a month of two ago which was posted as a Caucus thread, and when Alaric and the Goths came in and began pillaging and burning the city and we responded the Admin Moderator pulled the Caucus designation!

So I pulled my pledge -- for a while.

I quite understand the concept between open threads and the Catholic Caucus label. What I do not understand is the POINT of attacks on a religious faith that has prevailed for centuries, nor the mocking, nastiness, and general rudeness of the tone of those attacks.

I do not consider this debate. I don’t like it, which is why I am not around here much anymore. Nothing is advanced, division is caused out of nothing more than spite, and in the process we have one more thing we can argue over while ignoring the danger of democrats running the country, Islamic terrorists killing our people, and Chinese infiltration of our political system.

There is more that brings Christians together than divides us, although one wouldn’t know it from reading this thread. While I respect the right of all to come onto this thread (since it isn’t protected) it seems to me that those who do could be a bit more courteous.

With that, I am leaving for quieter reading elsewhere.

Thank you for the clarification.

I thank the original poster for leaving this open as it attempts to discredit a protestants opinion .
