Boy, the media just do not pass up a chance to spin things into negatives against the church. The pope didn’t want a tube crammed down his throat until absolutely necessary and they equate that with euthanasia. Whatever.

They tried to smear Mother Theresa and now Pope John Paul. Of course, he wasn't euthanized. The Pope's position is that if it's not natural death, it's committing suicide, the worst of sins.

They have looneys at Italian universities just like we have in America. The Italian professor doesn't know jack about John Paul.

The point is that Pope John Paul was terminally ill, Terri Schiavo was NOT. Being that the Pope was hvg his vitals ckd on the hour, was failing as seen on tv, I'm sure he lost his appetite which is natural. He was really dying and it was natural death. Has anyone here tried to eat when you're sick? Sometimes it's impossible, even for a Pope.

Euthanasia is tantamount to committing suicide which is a sin worse than murder.

Terri Schiavo was murdered. The Pope's statements on natural death are at www.priests4life.com.

The question is: HOW MUCH DID GEORGE SOROS (ERGOS is his death cult web site) pay the Italian professor to re-visit the Pope's death?

"The doctor says she decided to revisit the Pope's death after a recent ruling by the Catholic Church on euthanasia."

Your mom was shutting down. At least she had the sense to keep drinking water. Like I said above, who has an appetite when they're sick?

Your mom was 85 which is above the national average. She was not simply a young person with disabilities like Terri Schiavo. If your mom decided not to eat, she made that decision not to cause harm but because she was so ill.

And, of course you all miss her very much. My mom on the other hand, kept eating and drinking but she refused to read magazines at all and it took a lot of coaxing so she would listen to cds.

All seniors are different but it seems they want to make their own decisions whatever those are.

She drank water. Good for her. Your family can visit www.terrisfight.org. It is a great resource.

No disrespect intended towards a great man. The wry joke was told to me by a friend who is a Catholic priest.

I also heard that the guy who hit and damaged the Pieta statue several years ago in St. Peter's Basilica was only semi-literate. He confused the word "Pieta" for "pinata"....

I have no issue with Terri. She was murdered. She had no life threatening disease. Her parents wanted to care for her even though her husband, while living with another woman, with her kids ... wanted her dead.

All you say is true ... natural to lose your appetite when dying etc..

My point is that regardless of a feeding tube or not, when God wants you ... feeding tube or not, you won’t be late for death. God calls the shots on death - not us and nor should we murder as in the situation of Terri. Terri was perfectly healthy and she had a death NO HUMAN deserves. Terri’s death was a national tragedy.

As for our family, we don’t want to be propped up by a feeding tube when our time is at hand. As in the situation of my Grandmother, she was failing and did NOT want heroic efforts to keep her around. She survived DOUBLE LUNG PNEUMONIA at age 100! The was of clear mind and refused the feeding tube the doctors wanted to insert. We prayed for her and that HIS will be done.

She RECOVERED and began with liquid foods moving to solid foods. A few months later her heart simply gave out and surrounded by loved ones was sung into heaven. She had no fear of death. It was her time. We believe she made the right decision to refuse a feeding tube. She recovered completely and had a few more months with her loved ones on earth till HE determined the time was right to unite her with her husband and other loved ones in heaven. She was just shy of turning 101 years old by 4 months.

This project has George Soros’ name all over it. The death merchants are bashing people who are dead cuz they can’t defend themselves. We have an anti-euthanasia ping list. See my tag line. The death merchants weren’t expecting Terri Schiavo to remain in the news on a daily basis nor were they expecting to be under a microscope re their twisted agenda. Tough toenails aclu, planned parenthood, George Soros, Judge Greer, sci-fis, atheists, the ABA, death lawyers, BAD HOSPICES (not all are bad), et al.

Like I said, there’s www.terrisfight.org and www.priests4life.com (Fr. Pavone). Father Pavone can be contacted. If I had doubts, I’d contact him. Lotsa freepers have met him and hold him in high regard, even non-Catholics.

The Pope was very, very ill. If you caught his last appearance at his apartment window, it didn’t take a physician to see that he didn’t have long to live. He died a few days after that last appearance which was the day before Terri died from starvation & dehydration, state sponsored homicide. Thank u www.judgegeorgegreer.com and your band of evil doers.

FEEDING TUBES ARE NOT TORTURE DEVICES.

I'd like to note however, that we should be careful not to demonize feeding tubes. They are not horrid torture devices. Sometimes, premature babies and children need them. There are portable feeding tubes like back packs called G-tubes. They are not scary looking and should not be looked upon as if it's a torture device. They save lives, sustain life and many times after therapy, can be tossed aside.

For anyone interested, here's Terri's Foundation w/other links that may prove helpful.

Sounds familiar - they wanted to give my mom antidepressants - powerful antipsychotics, for God’s sake - as well as at least 6 other meds. She just refused everything, and faded away. This was absolutely her own will. Possibly she could have lasted another year if she did was she was told, then probably died of another stroke, but she wasn’t having any of it.

If JPII made the choice, is it euthenasia or something else? Suicide?

In any event, it doesn’t matter because JPII was terminally ill. Nothing was going to stop the massive infection he had so this story is pretty much irrelevant.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Soros helped this non-story along, although a propaganda rag like Time would need no prompting to showcase an anonymous, unsourced “medical opinion” that’s about as valid as the opinion of the loudmouth on the next barstool.
