What an interesting post, thank you. It helps me to understand why when I read the Beatitudes, for instance, I perceive the teaching of Jesus to be spiritual. For example, the mourning, as mourning over sin.
I had a similar reaction in reading Scriptures spiritually instead of physically. That's when suddenly I realized the words of God are truly alive. Before then they were just text like any other ancient manuscript.
My life hasn't been the same since. LOL!
