[.. This is why birth must come before death and death must come before resurrection. This does not bode well for those who say that we are spiritually dead before we are born again. ..]

Life in the body vs. life in the spirit..
"Life" could be the ultimate metaphor.. What is life?..
Is a carrot dead when we eat it or was it ever "alive" at all?..
Spiritually dead could also be a metaphor.. as is born again..
To explain things too deep for us to understand now..

To explain things too deep for us to understand now..

1 Cor 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
These things may be to deep for us to understand them completely but I continue to search the scriptures to understand them better.

Is a carrot dead when we eat it or was it ever "alive" at all?..

Gen 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
I am not sure that carrots qualify as a living substance since they were not destroyed on the flood. Unless Noah took a lot of seeds.
