As the astute Dr. E pointed out, it was especially serious for the women in Corinth, a port city, because a sign of a prostitute was short, or bobbed, hair, and the women in the church were not to be slaves to the fad but be separate. Why would a woman outside the church care what the women in the church were doing. They were not bound by those rules and for the most part they seemed foolish to them.
So the answer to your question is no, I am not blind, and in fact, I can read the paragraphs before and after a passage to get understanding of what the writer is saying rather than proof texting. It really helps make sense of the passage.
