Then we have something in common. Try re-reading your post No. 11,071.
remember the Canon was set before the Church was thoroughly corrupted
LOL!!! When was that? If I recall properly, it was +Ignatius (end of 1st century, beginning of the second -- doesn't get much ealrier than that save for the Apostles!) saying soemthing about certain heretics!. I suppose you would say the Church was thoroughly corrupted by then already, and all of the deuterocannicals have not even been written yet!
Also show Scripture which supports your claim " "We are forbidden to privately interpret the Bible. The Bible itself says so
You quote 2 Paul 1 correclty, but I suggest 1 Cor 12:30 is quite explicit.
You quote 2 Paul 1 correclty, but I suggest 1 Cor 12:30 is quite explicit.
1 Corinthians 12:
28* And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, then healers, helpers, administrators, speakers in various kinds of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?
31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
It's just as well you don't attempt to interpret Scripture.
