But you find Paul to be in error in so many ways? Why quote him now? Maybe he is mistaken here also I simply stated what he said, did't I? And you made up the rest.

Yet when I simply state what he wrote, you rail against it. You appear to have something against Paul. Or me.

I think women got the best of this, maybe cause they were deceived and men just flat sinned If suffering was supposed to be punishment from God for disobedience, then Eve certainly must have done much worse in God's eyes. Our (male) part is easy when it comes to babies...but then, funny, that's true of most animals, isn't it?
If it is true, as Dr. E says, that women are saved because of the pain of childbearing, than I am sure all "bible-believing" Protestant women turn down spinal block anesthesia when delivering babies...so they can remain faithful and obedient...and suffer in pain of "salvation."

Yet when I simply state what he wrote, you rail against it. You appear to have something against Paul. Or me I have nothing against you or St. Paul. I love both of you. But when you use one of St. Paul's verses as the alpha and omega of salvation and the New Testament is chock-full of other examples, then I must disagree with your choice.

Are you telling me that scripture disagrees with scripture? I would rather that your (and my) understanding of scripture disagrees with other understandings of scripture. If all scripture is of God, and God does not contradict himself, it must be our understanding that is in error. Paul, and Peter, and John, and Mark and Luke, etc. are all speaking the word of Christ. It does not conflict.

Men are not elect because they persevere. They persevere because they are elect.
All who persevere do so because it is by the will of God, according to the will of God.

If it is true, as Dr. E says, that women are saved because of the pain of childbearing I have seen you do this before and I'm asking you to stop making false statements, particularly when they concern me.
Although I suppose I'm in good company since the other day you said Peter chastized Paul, which he never did.
FYI, I had natural childbirth and I don't recommend it. What do you know about childbirth, Kosta?

When combined with Assurance (and/or how one knows one is elected) it becomes circular.
I should have made that more clear.

IIRC, the punishment was pain in childbirth for women and having to work for a living for men.

Just because you are married doesn’t mean you know ANYTHING about women. After years of experience, I offer up this list of rules about women:
1. You are wrong.
2. She knows you are wrong.
3. Even if you think you are right, she knows you are wrong.
4. Even if you can prove you are right, refer to rule # 1.

And please don't tell me this applies only to women in "those days" and that cultural setting, because 1000 silverlings just got through telling everyone that the word of God is eternal and universal and that it applies to all the people all the time. Some are still called to bear Godly seed, and far from being a burden, that is a gift from God. Paul also says Gal3:3
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Paul said actually the childbearing which would denote more of a woman's designated purpose in creation whereas men were to be tillers of the field and shepherds, etc.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array If you go back into the OT you will see that these customs began whenever Israel associated too closely with her neighbors, such as Egypt. The adornments are associated with harlotry and idolatry and why in Judaism they were not to be desired in a woman.
