Has the AP misquoted the pope? Because my first statement has been the underlying 'truth' to every religion since the very beginning. You aren't honestly proposing that it's not are you? I'm not specifying the Catholic Church here either, it's any of them. "If you do not worship our way, you are doing it the wrong way." "Our church is the One Church." [Others are] "not true churches but merely ecclesial communities and therefore did not have the "means of salvation."
I donno, sure sounds to me as if you aren't in the One True Church, and therefore 'saved' you are in fact, going to hell.
That isn't an attack on the Catholic Church. It's a flat statement of all Churches, in fact it applies pretty well to most religion period.
