Tex, do Orthodox consider the Catholic Church to be Apostolic? Do the Orthodox and Catholic Churches agree on what contitutes an Apostolic nature in regards to other Christians — in other words, do either recognize any Church as Apostolic that the other rejects as Apostolic?

The (Latin) Catholic Church and particular Churches in communion with her is a fully Apostolic Church. We Orthodox are not in communion with Rome because of unresolved theological and ecclasial differences, but there is only One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. We can safely say that our non-communion is 1,000 years old, but not the Catholic Church.

1. Yes, as the RC Church was part of the “one” Church until 1054 AD, it is Apostolic.

2. I don’t think so, unless possibly the Anglican Church.
