I still think my suggestion of the credit card where a small portion of your transactions goes toward your "get out of Hell Free" account ought to be proposed to the powers that be at the Vatican. So I think this was a brilliant thread.

And to acquaint oneself with the way any number of psycho-sociopathies can find fulfillment and take refuge in the activity of making patently and bizarrely false charges against the Church in a perpetually self-verifying and unfalsifiable three card Monte of overstated and unsubstantiable claims of pseudo-scholarship -- all this is illuminating. When I see what happens if one begins with the proposition the the Church is wrong from the ground up, I feel like I was rescued at the last minute from intellectual suicide.
