I get tired of all the liberals saying that morality should not be legislated. A general lack of morality has social costs. Many of the social problems that liberals say we should all be paying to take care of, are the result of poor or lacking morals.
I'll make a deal with all the liberals, I'll stay out of pushing for morality, and you can stay out of my wallet at tax time.
Liberals are only against legislating morality that they don't agree with. Their whole "social justice" crusade is about legislating morality.
Another favourite of theirs is to say "my conscience tells me it's right and the Church teaches we are answerable to our consciences". I've heard Ms Pelosi go down this route.
Complete rubbish of course and further proof of their ignorance of what the Church actually teaches. The Catholic Catechism says a conscience should be PROPERLY FORMED for one to make decisions based on their "conscience".
If a politician doesn't even know the BASICS (i.e. that abortion is intinsically evil and always wrong thus making the pro-choice stance incompatible with the Catholic one) then obviously their conscience is NOT properly formed and any moral judgements they make according to their "conscience" is flawed.
That argument falls flat on its face when they bring it up. Morality is legislated, how else would we make it legal to kill the unborn?
Some sort of morality had to come into play to come up with that decision!
