That "you" refers to you specifically and me specifically. Anyone and everyone who knows the truth in the Scriptures but adheres to something else will be held accountable for that.
Check out Revelations where it says the books will be opened, and the dead will be judged by what's in them. I'm sure one of those books will be the Bible.
I have no problem standing before God during the judgment of my works (1 Cor. 3:10-15), and having them based on what Scripture says as opposed to what a church believes Scripture means to say. I can't imagine standing before God and saying "I prayed to Mary for intercession, because the Catholic Church said that was right." Then try doing your Scripture gymnastics with God. Nope. Not for me.
