me and my university friends go to the catholic parish just down the road from the anglican cathedral and we have a little plot to rename it 'Our Lady of the Holy Trinity' - that is after we turn it into a catholic church. :-)

so he believes in things that are seen, yet not in things unseen. Well, I guess that is where FAITH comes in. The Spirit does not seem to be in him, "giving witness with his spirit" so to speak. He seems to be something of an intellectual lightweight. Perhaps that is not fair, but that is the impression I get.

. . . but he can't keep on taking money from the Church if he doesn't believe in what the Church teaches.

This guy's a bishop...He IS the church...

I am not amazed at this faker's position...But I am amazed there are people attending any function where he is involved...And sadly, we both call ourselves Christians...

He isn't really calling himself a Christian any more . . .

. . . and though he is in the position of leadership and thus should be the Church, he has betrayed his trust and should be expelled.

But the Archbishop of Canterbury long ago gave up the authority to expel or even discipline this man. There hasn't been anybody in charge in the Anglican Communion for a long, long time.

It seems that it all depends upon what one perceives. How would one know if they received proof from the spiritual domain? What if someone said you didn't receive proof, how would you know it was proof?

That's why we test all things of the spirit by Bible doctrine.

All faith is provided by God. That includes Bible doctrine metabolized in our soul, our mind, our heart.

Interesting thing about faith is that it allows God to do all the work. We just simply rest in Him.

There have been alot of preachers recently who think it's hard to believe. Such thinking merely reflects a scarred soul. Nothing is easier than resting in Him and allowing Him to do the work. Some of the ramifications of evil are that they attempt to distract us from remaining in fellowship with Him by appealing to anything other than Him.

What if someone said you didn't receive proof, how would you know it was proof?

If another human says you didn't receive proof, the next question to ask is, how would he know my spirit and my heart, which are only known to God? The spirit life is discernible from the soulish or physical life, but that doesn't mean man doesn't live with all three components of his anthropology.

I can not eat for a couple of days, begin to feel light headed with a head ache, eat a banana and in short order feel refreshed. In such an exercise, the body is nourished and the soul is effected by the body.

Empiricism and rationalism seek methods of proof from soulish and physical evidence. The spirit life true with Him also manifests evidence in our life. Such evidence also may effect the soul and the physical domains.

Consider the miracles Christ performed during the first Incarnation. They provide wonderous insight to those scarred by soulish thinking, believing the physical domain is independent of the spirit.

There are many that do not believe as you do, their faith comes from God also.

If God does not exist, and Christ is not risen from the dead, all priests might as well simply pack up and go home. There is absolutely no point to a church without faith.

Since only God knows our spirit and heart, then what is the need for religions? It wuld seem that all faiths are equal.

I generally like to go into various churches when I travel. In Auckland, I went by the Anglican cathedral, noticed a poster advertising a speech by John Spong, and didn't go in. Why bother if they don't believe in anything?

Only faith which He gives is worthy from the perspective of Divine Good.

Faith in anything but through Christ is false.

WRT religion, you are correct that much sin is wrapped up in many religions, but one may still worship Him through faith in Christ and develop an understanding of Him by religion where one remains faithful through Him.

Each of us have different gifts of the spirit, but only one faith, which is the same as our Lord and Savior' Christ Jesus. see Rom 3:22-26

Since only God knows what is in each heart and soul, how do you know what is in anothers heart and soul? How do you know there is only one faith?

I don't know what is in each heart and soul, although I might disscern the fruits another manifest by their hearts. The judgment is best left to the individual of themselves through Christ or will later be determined by God Himself.

We know that the true faith is the same as God Incarnate revealed to us per His Word in Romans 3:22-26.

The greek word translated as 'faith' is also translated as belief and as Bible doctrine in other passages. The initial faith in Christ is used by the Holy Spirit as a positional sanctification of the believer to provide us a human spirit one with Him. Our salvation and sanctification continues, also through faith in Christ, by the enabling work of God, the Holy Spirit again in our mind and our hearts, and upon our performance of work through faith in Him becomes wisdom agian by His work.

Bishop Richard Randerson admits that his spiritual views may be seen by some as heresy. ... He admits that he is an agnostic ... He is free to hold such beliefs, but not while an Anglican Bishop ... he's a hypocrite seeking acceptance and working to proselytize others (to non-faith) from the pulpit. Defrock the deceptive one and remove him from the Church lest he lead many astray.
