And, by God's grace and the patient example of the tireless RM, I've learned to remove personal stuff from virtually all my posts. I virtually never attack anyone's personhood, sanity, heart etc. anymore.

Apparently, describing persons as "computer chips" is consistent with not attacking their personhood. Go figure.

I think the Apostle Paul has some things to say about avoiding taking up an offense; even about avoiding being unnecessariliy offended . . . perhaps avoiding being offended period, ever, at any cost.

Christ was not offended by The Cross and forgave His executioners. I try to follow His model as much as lies within me by His Spirit.

Certainly, imho, inferring, extrapolating, winding up, an offense where one is not or where one is extremely weak or minor, if at all . . . carrying a super large chip on one's posting fingers . . .

just doesn't ring as Christ's way.

For a post to be "making it personal" it must be addressing an individual Freeper not a collective on or off the forum (e.g. Calvinists), confessions, academically "anyone who believes A", etc.

However, if the only contribution a poster makes is to troll threads dissing a particular belief - they may be suspended or banned as a trouble-maker.
