Yet you still are unable to cite one of these "flaws," so I must assume that you haven't found any or else you would cite them.

Once upon a time . . . God made man in His image . . .
later on . . . He redeemed man at great cost . . .
There are some who assert that He's been bemoaning that He did not redeem monkies instead.

I've described somethink quite opposite of a secret club with members scattered abroad and operating openly.
Odd anyone in any sect would think I'd described a secret club.

Hey, everybody. Sorry I'm so late to the beer-brawl. But I don't have Internet access on the weekend. What'd I miss?

I prefer to cite obedience and overcoming victories instead of flaws.
Besides, word wars about one another's flaws have taken up a lot of bandwidth hereon.
However, it's very egregiously outrageously wrong and hazardous to ASSUME that I am unABLE to cite flaws. LOL!

They were just explaining how we're a Papist Roman sect, but the Holy Spirit tells each of the thousands of different Protestant denomination which one is right and which of the thousands are wrong.

There are many answers and some myteries to that. Who is doing the side-stepping?

Discuss the issues all you want but do NOT make it personal!
To: Quix
I have stated such are in all genuinely Christian groups But you refuse to name names. That's why it seems like a secret club. And when I ask you why all these Spirit-filled, Spirit-led believers remain in the act of schism, dividing the "great and glorious" body of Christ, you say that there are many answers and mysteries. Don't you see what a 'lame' answer that is? If one of your students gave such an answer on a test, would you give him credit for it? I wouldn't even give him partial credit.

Well, with all due respect, my "side' is the one with authority so if you don;'t agree, that doesn't harm me or the church at all
To: wagglebee; marajade; Petronski
I can vouch for marajade. (It happens I have studied in a seminary, but that pales in comparison to reading God's Word with an open heart and Bible study with others, listening to good Bible teaching, etc.)
We have absolutely no need for any "vicar" of Christ, because we have Christ. There are so many Bible passages to support this (and none to refute) that one hardly knows where to begin.
And on the other hand, each of us represents Christ to this world and to our brother, we all being priests needing as the writer of Hebrews stated over and over again, only one High Priest, once and for all.

Odd anyone in any sect would think I'd described a secret club. Then name names. Pat Robertson? Jerry Falwell? Oral Roberts? Joseph Smith?

I can vouch for marajade. Do you vouch for the lies she has told about me on this thread? And don't ask me to point them out yet again, that's already done upthread, repeatedly.

And I suggest we all spend our free time correcting the lies by pro-abort candidates when they're attacking our pro-life candidates about "outlawing stem cell research."

Sorry.
I take it calling Catholicism a "sect" on a thread based on the writings of the current Pope is not considered personal.

We have absolutely no need for any "vicar" of Christ, because we have Christ. So, there's absolutely no need for the Catholic Church at all? The Vatican should just close down? Thanks for clearing that up for us.

What's being lost in all of this, I think, is that the actual claim made was that God appointed Christ to be the Vicar of Christ, which makes no sense at all.
