I find it egregious that you would attack the Coptic Pope, Pope Shenouda III of Alaxandria.

Not just this, but you base your attack on an article from Fox news.
One would imagine that you, I assume a devout Catholic, would realize the atrocity of attacking so frivolously the patriarch of a church - a church very similar to your own.

I suppose I should not be overly upset since you probably have many blanks in your education regarding the history of Catholicism and of Coptic Orthodoxy, of Pope Shenouda III and of Christianity in the Middle East.
In fact, I very much doubt you even recognize the blatant errors in the article you are commenting on.
Did you even read Pope Shenouda’s exact response to Pope Benedict’s speech? After all, you mock Pope Shenouda for not reading the Catholic patriarch’s speech. It seems you fall short of meeting your own criticism.

The article here is flagrantly wrong factually. It misrepresents the ancient and modern history of the Coptic Church even in its few sentences. As an example, I’ll try to attach a link of a picture of Pope Shenouda III and Pope John Paul II’s meeting at the Pope’s reception in Egypt in 2000.
The Coptic Church along with Pope Shenouda is widely regarded as a preserved jewel of Christianity in the middle east, and is frequently at the forefront of Dialogue and debate with Islam. I am wary of anyone who would so humiliatingly portray a man who has unrelentingly attempted to bring the peace of Christ to harsh times.

Feel free to ask me questions. I believe we could all do with a little less Pope Bashing.

Since I wasn't able to go to Egypt personally and interview Pope Shenouda, I must confess that I did pass on and comment on the report on FOX News.

So now you're telling me that Pope Shenouda vigorously and publically defended Pope Benedict XVI?

And has spoken out to correct the mistaken portrayal of him in the Egyptian and world press?

Now, THAT I missed.

And by the way - my theological and historical education regarding both Catholicism and Orthodoxy is, I am almost certain, at least equal to your own. But thanks for the condescension.

I'll check out your references and links to Pope Shenouda's declarations of support for and solidarity with Pope Benedict. It would be a powerful statement coming from the heart of an Islamic country.

Discussing the issues is fine but do NOT make it personal.
