What is the point in them affirming something when they do the opposite? Is it to have something to point to when people question them and say, "Oh, no!
This is our official stance."
It was hypocrisy like this that drove me from institutional religion.

Jesus was into an institution called "The Church."

I left the Episcopal church years ago and became a Baptist. I love the reliance on SCRIPTURE in the Baptist Church.
Fellowshipping with other believers is important.
