It's not rules for religion.
It's modesty for the Christian woman who rejects what the world says is normal.

Well, see, respect is a two-way street. Luke 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

I'm not going to ask you what you were doing at the movie :) I wasn't saved at the time. But my dad made me attend church. :-)

I would wager I'm a better witness to my friends by going out on Friday night, having fun and maybe one drink with them, than I would be if I refused all alcohol and claimed it was because I was a Christian. I am here to tell you as a formerly unsaved person who saw so called Christians live just like the world, it destroyed their testimony in my eyes.

The author of this article is a KJV only idiot. Which Bible then would you say is correct?

I made the determination that I would never drink when I ~needed~ a drink, nor would I drink alone. So why drink at all?

ctd HAS been around for a very long time.
My memory says he's gone through at least 3 or 4 editions of the software, through the time when there was no religion forum, through the time when there was no RF mod, and through the RF wars.
We guess at motives around here on a regular basis....we don't always verbalize our suspicions, but the guessing goes on. and on. and on.......

I am here to tell you as a formerly unsaved person who saw so called Christians live just like the world, it destroyed their testimony in my eyes. So was Jesus "worldly" when he drank wine, hung out with sinners, and was accused of being a "drunkard"?
Is God worldly for giving us wine "to make the heart glad"?
You have no right to adjudge anyone "worldly" for having a drink or two. To do so is to create your own rules, which have no authority and are of no value of fighting fleshly indulgence.
Now, I respect people who don't drink. I do so only rarely. But I refuse to allow anyone to prattle on about "destroying testimony" because we engage in behavior specifically authorized in Scripture.

The next time you go out to party with the world, why don't YOU TRY doing what Jesus did and preach "REPENT" instead of partying with people while their souls are in danger of Hell?

So why drink at all? Socially. It's amazing the bond a bunch of guys form around a six-pack. A little really does "gladden the heart."

And let me repeat, people who call themselves Christians, but go out drinking and acting like the world have destroyed their Christian testimony.
You don't have to like it, you don't have to agree with it, but it is the truth.
And medicinal drinking is all that is authorized in the NT.

Jesus preached to those sinners to SIN NO MORE and to REPENT. Yes, but he never told them to stop drinking their wine. In fact, he drank enough to be accused of being a "drunkard."
The next time you go out to party with the world, why don't YOU TRY doing what Jesus did and preach "REPENT" instead of partying with people while their souls are in danger of Hell?
And just how the hell do you know I don't? What gives you the authority to assume I don't discuss these things with them?

Daniel 1:8 ¶But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Hosea 4:11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

They wouldn't listen, because in their eyes, you are no different than they are.

And medicinal drinking is all that is authorized in the NT. Well, of course. Drinking wine was assumed. Remember: Jesus drank wine and was accused of being a drunkard.
Deal with that fact.

In fact, he drank enough to be accused of being a "drunkard." That is not in Scripture. What a stretch!!!!!!!!!
The Bible never says that he "drank enough" to be accused of being a drunkard.
Luke 7:34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

Drinking wine was assumed. Only for medicinal purposes.

Someone who is partying and drinking with the guys has no moral authority to preach the Gospel to them. They wouldn't listen, because in their eyes, you are no different than they are. You assume a whole boatload of things you know nothing about. You assume that the guys don't know the difference between having a beer or two and getting schlitzed. You assume that the guys don't know the difference between getting a drink after work and going clubbing.
