That is certainly not the case, nor is it the sentiment of that statement. How are we supposed to debate unless we can twist statements out of context?

How are we supposed to debate unless we can twist statements out of context? Well, I could tell you what the neeners do if you were on our list...but then we don't have a list...so...

There are other organizations that make that very same claim, Corin, in just that way.

"Can one define "church" too broadly?"
Can one define "the narrow way" too broadly?

"In his epilogue he posits that perhaps the ecclesial discord is part of God's plan, and I've thought that myself many times"
I've always heard that the purpose of the splintering of the nations at the tower of Babel was to slow the spread of evil. I've thought of that often within the context of the Church.

"All men who have God as their Father are my brothers and sisters."
Now how about,
"All men who do the will of the Father in Heaven are my brothers and sisters".
To: Corin Stormhands
Why, Corin, that's so......theological. :>)

All moderators have authority on the Religion Forum - and we have individual tastes. Therefore, what is tolerable to one may not be tolerable to anothe You know it is almost like having no speed signs and no stop signs and no traffic lights and no rules for the road and letting every cop make up what ever laws they want every morning and enforcing them as they will.
Imagine trying to figure out how to make a cake with no recipe .

Their proper name is "the Doctrines of Grace", Calvinism is a short cut and it honors the man that wrote a Systematic Theology of the Christian Faith

I would narrow that a bit and say "All men who place their faith in the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of their sin." are my bothers and sisters.

If all men can be sisters, sounds like you want an inclusive church. I don't think that's what Johnny C. had in mind.

"Harley Has Two Theologians" is a big seller at the bookstore down on the megachurch concourse next to the Starbucks and Sinaplex.

The Doctrines Of Grace repeated ad nauseam is so uncool. Yawn, boring, yuck! Talk about something else for once. The Bible is so full of great stuff to talk about. How boring Jesus would have been if all he talked about was how God loves the elect that's why they are going to Heaven, and God hates the non-elect, that's why God wants to see them burn in Hell for all eternity. How uncool. :P

Did you read the article? There is so much more there than the Doctrines of Grace. It's uncool to post blanket statements without commenting in the actual posted article.
Very uncool.
