By the way, the passage you are talking about where women were to be silent in the churches has nothing whatever to do with tongues but with women who were interrupting the service by asking questions, disrupting the preaching. God never ever says that women are not to speak in tongues. In the old testament there was a woman who was a judge, there were women who were prophetesses in both old and new testaments.

God never ever says that women are not to speak in tongues. In the old testament there was a woman who was a judge, there were women who were prophetesses in both old and new testaments.

There is, however, no recorded case of a woman receiving the gift of tongues in scripture.

Now, since the passage is in the chapter teaching about tongues and it use and abuse, the general principle is that women ought not be making noise in church for any reason, including the use of tongues, which was one source of confusion.
