I also, used to defend the Church too, back when I was afraid it might not be true.

I posted some statistics based upon a post stating that Mormon's were good people. One of the statistics is that child murder and child abuse is more prevalent among Utahns. Nothing more - nothing less.

But an outsider who reads the last half of this thread will be able to follow the obfuscation by Church members in their round-about accusations against people like me. That is all I ask.

For those of you who have not joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - please do not rely on a burning in your bosom after reading James 1:5.
nowhere has God said (except in Joseph Smith's words) that this is the appropriate way to discern truth.

Search the history - see how many times Mormons have changed their own story. Pray about it. DO NOT pray that you will be shown the "truthfulness of the Book of Mormon." That is brainwashing by the book.

Pray that you will see ALL truth.

Sorry you lost your testimony. I will include you in my prayers.

All of us know that child abuse is an abomination. Remember that the Lord taught that rather than abuse or molest a child you would be better off tying a mill stone around your neck and jumping into the lake. I agree with the Lord.

I have not obfuscated anything. I hope you can recover from your own bitterness.
