What have you found contrary to this when you read the Book of Mormon?Nothing. This person's big gripe is that Mormonism doesn't follow his or her idea of what "true" Christianity is, as defined by his or herself (talk about taking authority unto yourself). I'm guessing this person also loves to lay into Catholics. It's time to exercise a little self-discipline and disengage from the conversation. The heart is hard as flint with pride, and the mind closed tighter than a steel trap.

I guess I didn't understand, frgoff. I was going on my own experience, where I hold off judgement of information until I can apply the true test: asking God and geting a thumbs up or down from the Holy Ghost.
I'm very interested in eschatology, and I read texts from Catholics, the many flavors of Protestantism, Native Americans, even Muslims, searching for the truth. Joseph Smith said we don't have a monopoly on the truth, and that we should seek it out everywhere.
