when we face new questions in our culture such as "What does God think of human cloning, or sex-selection, or whether to disobey man's laws concerning hiding illegal aliens, etc.?", the approaches are more similar among the Protestants and the Orthodox, in my opinion. We would go back to the beginning to find the answer, whereas the Catholics might try to adapt to current circumstances, eventually culminating in a Vatican III. This is either empty nonsense as regards the Catholicism, or inaccurate. The councils of the Church, past or future, are rooted in the deposit of the apostolic faith just as much as the Orthodox Church is as she defines her teaching on the issues facing modernity. It is not the Catholic Church that invents stuff like "Maccabees are not inspired", "Mary had sex with Joseph", "Once saved -- always saved", or what have you.
