"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner!"

There's those peskey hesychasts again! :)

LOL! Well, I am not speaking about those who repeat that prayer over and over again all day long, but rather, those who call upon Christ DURING the temptation. This habit is one of reliance on the Lord and not ourselves. It is one of humility. When we call upon the Lord during our temptations, we are relying on Him who desires our deification.

Regards

And hesychastism is exactly what, in your estimation? The whole idea of noetic prayer is to "die to the self" so that our entire being is focused on God. :)
