The Church is the body of believers descended both spiritually and ordinandly from those early Christians and from Jesus himself, encompassing all believers of all time.

Our Protestant Churches are not make believe, and they were founded in part due to extreme abuse and dereliction on the part of the Roman Catholic Church.

Furthermore, since that church of that day was in dire need of reform, they are a "Reformation" of that church of that day, and they are not a "restoration" of the true church, for Christ's Church will not be defeated.
