Dear annalex, you really should stick to preaching to cows. The bible teaches, in more than one book and lesson, that the priest can be good, bad or indifferent. The HS and His actions, are dependent on God, not a priest.
And there is absolutely no proof whatsoever, that Peter ever went to Rome, was beheaded, and or crucified upside down. Scripture does not speak of any of this.
I agree that the priest can be good, bad, or indifferent. It is precisely because the Holy Spirit comes from God, that the disposition of the priest does not affect the sacrament. My Church taught that for 16 centuries, since the donatist heresy. My post 1,398 is not contradicted by your 1,401 with which I wholly agree.
And there is absolutely no proof whatsoever, that Peter ever went to Rome, was beheaded, and or crucified upside down. Scripture does not speak of any of this.
Scripture never mentions the Great Wall of China either, so it must not exist.
And I guess Clement, Tertullian, Irenaeus, Lactantius, Dionysius of Corinth, Gaius, Eusebius and the rest were all lying about Peter being at Rome as part of a grand conspiracy.
Then where do u come up with this stuff about the church sending the HS? That is just ludicrous.
In the scripture. See, for example, 1,395.
Hearsay, won't stand up in court, sorry. Where is the hard evidence. We have, scripturally, "Greetings from Babylon". That speaks volumes.

It speaks volumes? What do you mean?
So you and I, and the pastor's wife, and all the congregation down at Church of the black madonna, we send the HS to whoever we choose. I don't think so
Babylon is code word for Rome, in accordance with the scripture that treats Babylone as a center of power with all kinds of iniquity. The actual Babylon ws a forgotten village in the 1 century, no reason for St. Peter to be there.
lol
lol
Am I missing something? Do you intend to answer my question>
Look, you really need to slow down and think before you chat. You are among grown-ups. There is no "so".
Annalex answered it, all I can do is laugh at what Peter implied, sorry

What do you mean? I'm afraid I miss your point.
It's Friday afternoon. He's drunk. I think I'll go get some white with my fish myself.
Cheers, friends.
so, how does the "church" which is nothing but a group of people, send the HS?
lol. I can't help laughing. You people go in circles, never making any sense. Peter tells you, flat out, he's in Babylon, which really is quite funny, but you prefer to ignore the implications of the remark. Maybe he was talkng literally, and maybe figuratively. Either way, it should give you pause.
I guess you are not going to answer my question.
Annalex did answer it
