When I got serious about my relationship with God and did a serious search it led to the Catholic Church.

mine too...this was a church that for all its problems, I could see the hand of God actively working with. My perspective was also shaped because I had studied a LOT of late Roman and medieval history...and even knowing about some of the warts the church had, I could see it shining through the dross that men bring, to carry the message of Christ on.

From it s continuity from the beginning of the Church through to now, from its continual witness of signs and wonders (and for me the physical effects of "the miracle of the sun" at Fatima and the documented eucharistic miracles, the tilma of Our Lady of Guadaloupe, amongst other things all played their role in leading me across the Tiber.

But one of the things that caught my eye was the simple decade prayer on the Rosary:

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy.

I heard that said on ETWN one day, and thought, I want to belong to a church that can pray with that attitude, asking for mercy for everyone, especially those most in need of mercy is a calling I feel even today.

So in part because of that, here I am.
