So you have questions about Scientology...

As a former member of that, ummmm, organization, I have a standing open offer to answer any FReeper's qusetions about Scientology, either in open forum, or via FReepmail.

I will do my best to answer as promptly, concisely and accurately as possible, but as I left some time ago, I'm not always privy to the latest wrinkles.

Still, from what I can gather from my few remaining contacts not that much has really changed!

Interesting. There are a number of rumors about the death of Hubbard. The one that stands outs the most is related the current top-dog of Scientology David Miscavige.

I am interested in what your friends believes about Hubbard’s death. Some insiders have different accounts and that interest me. (maybe the psychs???)

My gosh, you’re asking me about a post from four years ago? My one Scientologist friend moved from here several years ago. I never did find out why he thought that Hubbard was murdered.

My one Scientologist friend moved from here several years ago. I never did find out why he thought that Hubbard was murdered.

Deeply suspicious circumstances.

Hubbard controlled $billions. According to the coroner's report, he created a new will one day prior to his death, with the beneficiaries being the inner circle of Scientology senior executives who had physical control of him prior to his death. The attending physician was another Scientologist. Hubbard was cremated soon after death. Toxicology found traces of VISTARIL, an anti-psychotic drug.

Write-up on the death of Hubbard

Hey, Scn took Farrakhan. That means they will take ANYBODY, as long as he has enough money.

And Coumadin. Coumadin is also sold as Warfarin, a rat poison.

Warfarin is an anticoagulant, it causes rats to die by hemorrhage from even minor injuries.

Hubbard died of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Dr. Gene Denk, the attending physician has since died. His cause of death varies depending on who you ask...

There is a policy letter that requires the church to seek out and actively recruit “opinion leaders”.

There is an entire church structure within the church, the “Celebrity Centres”, to coddle and cater to people used to recruit others based solely on their status as the famous and emulated.

It never happened to anyone I know personally, but there are a number of remote scientology locations. If you've been transfered to a desert location, with an unknown distance to any other civilization, in an unknown direction your options are rather limited. That happened to several very high scn officials shortly after Hubbard died.

Just discovered this thread. I knew a guy 20 years ago that signed the Billion year contract. He expected to be working on one of the cruise ships... ended up cleaning toilets in Arizona.

Scientology will viciously attack anyone who publicly says anything bad about them. The have what? Hundreds of millions? Billions? to put anyone's life under an electron microscope one sliver at a time, and tie them up in legal battles for centuries, if need be.

That being the case, do you have any opinion as to whether the recent John Travolta homosexual trysts scandals were actually some form of control from Clearwater for perceived rebellion (perhaps in the wake of the death of his mentally impaired son, who was supposedly "treated" by Scientology practitioners as he was dying) rather than based on some degree of truth?

Beyond that: would a "clear" actually engage in homosexual behavior? Did you hear any policy or theory of homosexuality in the organization?

Hubbard believed that 'LSD crystals' would lodge in capillaries and break loose at odd and inconvenient times to cause flashbacks.

That's freakin crazy, man! Oh, wow! Heard that new album by the Doors? It's far out!

My opinion? John Travolta is gay gay gay. The Church hid and tolerated it as long as he was a useful recruiting tool.

Did you hear any policy or theory of homosexuality in the organization?

Hubbard asserted that homosexuality was always associated with suppressive persons. Calling someone an SP (Suppressive person) is just about the worst term available in the entire scientology lexicon.

They are to be shunned, avoided, destroyed, etc.

That being said, the first person I personally knew who died of AIDS was a scientology staff member (this was before AIDS had even been identified as a disease).

It's also rumored that Hubbard's gate swung both ways...

Would Miscavige and company destroy Travolta to protect the church? In a heartbeat, with no more hesitation than you or I would have in crushing a cockroach.

Beyond that: would a "clear" actually engage in homosexual behavior?

Theoretically, no. In practice, achieving the state of clear does not change brain wiring or body chemistry. I don't have many connections in the church these days, so I don't personally know any queer clears...

Yeah. Well, when a former doper got stupid and damaged the ship, and Hubbard investigated, the doper blamed a flashback as the reason he dropped the rope.

Hubbard therefore concluded that a micro-crystal of LSD had dislodged, got him to hallucinate that the rope was a snake, and caused problems...

Very interesting. Thank you for your detailed reply regarding Scientology's unresolved issues with homosexuality, Travolta, et cetera.

I agree with your earlier point that the internet is helping to expose the fallacies of exploitative pseudo-religions, especially by posting the so-called secret documents. Once the hidden secrets of the various false religions get widely read, especially the warrior cult in the mid-east, there may be hope for humankind.
