Wow - what a conference! There was something for everyone, including wonderful worship, complete with a processional which lasted forever, motivational speakers, personal testimonies and calls to action.
Various newspapers reported from 2,000 to 2,500 people were at the conference. I saw people from all of the country, and all over the world. My wife and I say many friends we made at GC 2003, and we made plenty of new friends in Pittsburgh. Our little Episcopal Witness get-together at the Sonoma Grill for dinner on Thursday had over 50 people itself
Contrast this to the Every Voice Networks recent (fake) family values conference at the National Cathedral which drew 250 participants. Heck, we had that many at the NOEL dinner in Pittsburgh on Thursday night!
One thing is clear: the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and of the transforming power of His Holy Spirit is what people long to hear and need to hear.
