The Pot-Kettle Dialogues

"Hello, this is Pot.  Kettle!  What a delightful surprise!  How have you been?  That's great to hear.  I'm doing fine, couldn't be better.  How are Mary Lou and the kids?  That's fantastic!  Did you guys ever close on that house?  Congratulations!  That'll be great for the new baby.  A barbecue next weekend?  Cassandra and I wouldn't miss it.  And how are you coming along with that blackness problem you have?"

The first openly gay Anglican bishop, Gene Robinson, has called for the Roman Catholic church’s attitude to homosexuals to be confronted.

The Bishop of New Hampshire said the Vatican’s ban on ordaining gay men was "vile", in a speech in London.

He received a standing ovation after his speech, in which he spoke of how he had faced prejudice in his role.

Bishop Robinson said: "We are seeing so many Roman Catholics joining the church.

"Pope Ratzinger may be the best thing that ever happened to the Episcopal Church."

"Pope Ratzinger."  Feel the love and respect from Airhead Robinson.  From now until his term ends next year, on those hopefully-rare occasions that they have to refer to him, I would like all Roman Catholics everywhere to refer to the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America as Frankie Baby.  Thank you.

He continued: "I find it so vile that they think they are going to end the child abuse scandal by throwing out homosexuals from seminaries.

"It is an act of violence that needs to be confronted."

Insert "but" here.

"I am not here to talk about a social agenda. I am not here to grind any axes, I am here to do the thing that Christians do, that is to witness to the good of God."

For those of you just starting out in blogging, you occasionally run across items like this.  There are a number of different ways you can go and all of them are good.  You could point out that a man who has to ignore as much of the Bible as Robbie does really has no business lecturing anybody about morals at all.  You could ask just why it is that the Bishop of Delusional thinks that Roman Catholics are flooding into a denomination that's been bleeding members for 30 years, has been dropping parishes right and left for the last two years and shows financial deficits from one end of this country to the other.

Or you could wonder how it is that Robbie knows something that the Roman Catholic Church hasn't released yet and why he thinks "throwing out homosexuals from seminaries" is "vile."  After all, Jesus never said anything about throwing out homosexuals from Catholic seminaries.  And if Jesus never said anything about it, why should it concern Robbie?
