A friend sent me this with the following quote:
"Sir, I would advise you to shift a shirt"
Shakespeare, Cymbeline Act 1.II
He said it came from the website of a parish of the West Midlands in the UK.
I give thanks for the Customary of the Dioocese of Fort Worth which reads:
The Bishop encourages the "black suit, black shirt standard" as the norm for all diocesan priests and discourages the wearing of loud colors or flashy attire with clericals.

Doesn't appear that the lady looked in a mirror, either.

He told me that Englishwomen as a class lose on their corsets what they make on their clothes, and that Satan himself cant save a woman who wears thirty-shilling corsets under a thirty-guinea costume.

LOL - corsets might help, along with a couple yards more fabric!

If she's wearing anything, it isn't working! < meow >
The padre's shirt doesn't fit either, and he could use a shave . . . < meow meow >
I just can't get used to people going to church looking like they're going to a rummage sale or a Hallowe'en party.

a rummage sale or a Hallowe'en partyOr the beach. Actually, some of the teenage girls are wearing less than I wear to the beach! You'd expect it to get better in the winter, but some of them just turn blue ...

How else are you going to spot the gay vicars? Now.. now... he's not gay - he's cheerful.

Doesn't appear that the lady looked in a mirror, either. It doesn't do for a clergy wife to look too posh. Really. She looks perfect for her role. West Midlands, is it? Brilliant. You have no idea, unless you have been through it.
