Seems hes been up to more than we thought, including seizure of all Connecticut Six parish funds.
Read it all at the American Anglican Council wesbite. They covered what I had in the model presentment as well as some other things relative to canonical due process.
Interesting. The shot heard round the world, so to speak. The AAC press release can be found here.
I recently wrote to the HOBD listserv: Assuming the factual allegations in the charges are true, specifically the attempted seizure of the bank accounts of the six churches in Connecticut and the seizure of St. Johns property, and I think they are, this is an open and shut case. He went about this all wrong. He should have gone through the process of reducing these parishes to mission status, including the six month delays and the hearings. But, he didnt.
Let me also suggest this to the HOBD listserv - if a trial is not held in this matter, I dont think any sort of reconciliation will be possible within ECUSA. Some are already suggesting that the review committee may not order a trial. That would be disasterous.

I don't see how, under the canons, they can in good conscience avoid recommending a trial.
That would be the time to appeal to Caesar (i.e. Canterbury).

P.S. He's a lawyer and he doesn't know how to spell "disastrous"? (or use a spellchecker?)

I saw that too. Perhaps he was just banging that out quickly.
I'm a good speller but a lousy typist.

Hope so. It never looks good to have a typo show up in a brief . . . or a blog.

That's true -- but with all the errors I see out there today, even on FR, I am really wondering, like the Professor in
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, "Bless me, what do they teach them in these schools?"
(Not sure the quote is 100% accurate.)

you know, I saw it, and read right over it. Funny how the mind "corrects" things we see for us.
