They are claiming that they are doing the first ever Clown Eucharist. Clown masses have been around for years. That does not in any way diminish the disgust than any right thinking Christian should feel towards them. It is desecration of the highest order.

How sad. Such a beautiful, old and historic church. I remember going to Tenebrae services there when I lived in New York. One of the few things the Episcopal Church has had going for it in recent years is that its liturgies have generally been more reverent, traditional and beautiful than your average Catholic liturgy. If you add bad "contemporary" liturgies to heresy, what have you got left?

You can see them

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Unfortunately one has to go through considerable gyrations to figure out whether they will or won't -- and usually they do. If they don't, just click through on the link...

The only word for this is "sacrilegious". Why would anyone voluntarily participate in such an open mockery of their own liturgy?

Clown masses have been around for years. After years of catholic rad trads posting the same absurd photograph of a catholic clown mass, I expected to see something similar.
Yikes!!! The church is decorated in a circus theme! The congregants have been given blinking red noses to wear and noisemakers to use because this is a 'mime' liturgy. I haven't made it that far yet but is the communion service also silent? And the procession set to circus music. <<<>>>

Oh, I'm so SORRY. I watched the clown service in part.
How heartbreaking for you. We had our Superman Mass here once. Our new Bishop has removed the offender and is much more orthodox.
There is hope for you!

Dear sionnsar,
"Thanks. Looks almost tame by comparison..."
You Anglicans often do the pageantry better than us, these days.
I think I'll go curl up in a fetal ball, now.....
