She wouldn't lend you her copy? :)

Hey, can I borrow yours when you're done?

She gave it to someone else before I had a chance to read it.

The Lord of the World reads like a veiled prophecy of the times in which we are currently living -- especially now.

If I could, I would require every Catholic to read it -- along with Father Elijah and one other Michael D. O'Brien book.

Which one? I think I've read them all now. (And what ever happened to fellow FReeper "Father Elijah"?)

I throughly enjoyed "The Lord of the World," "Father Elijah," and Soloviev's "The Tale of Anti-Christ."

Wrath Of God: The Days Of The Antichrist analyzes "The Lord of the World" alongside "The Tale of Anti-Christ" and it too is worth a read.

Has your wife read By What Authority ? I personally enjoyed this one more than Come Rack Come Rope . In B y What Authority there is a chapter dedicated to an Ignation Retreat! When I read this, I felt like I just went on a refresher retreat.
There are a few reasons why I like Robert Hugh Benson's writing:
(1)You get your fiction and spiritual reading all at the same time.
(2) If you are reading his historical fictions, you meet martyrs within the time period and have conversations with them.
