Syracuse University is not a catholic college even ostensibly. i was just explaining our reason for being up there. in my experience, admittedly limited, the church in NY is way to the left of that we have in the Arlington diocese of VA. i honestly don't know what i would do if i was left with that as my spiritual home.

as to deacons giving sermons, well as i said, my orientation is traditional to the point of tridentine. it so happens that my parish is a very conservative novus ordo, which i am very happy with. my kids attend the school there etc. If it were not, i would be at the tridentine Mass at St. Anthanasius.

I was thinking Seattle University, owned by the Jesuits.
But then again, it isn't really a Catholic college either.
