Do recall an Old Testament verse that speaks of the Eagle and often took to be reference to God. And in that verse
is clear reference to the Eagle in both the male and female
terms.My fuzzy brain cannot recall the precise reference.
PErhaps some scholar could assist.
If you can give me the passage, I can give you the TNIV* rendering.
Is this it?
Deuteronomy 32:10-12 (KJV)
10He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
11As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
12So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.
Deuteronomy 32:10-12 (TNIV*)
10 In a desert land he found him,
in a barren and howling waste.
He shielded him and cared for him;
he guarded him as the apple of his eye,
11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest
and hovers over its young,
that spreads its wings to catch them
and carries them aloft.
12 The Lord alone led him;
no foreign god was with him.
