""My definition of 'saving' is different than the evangelicals," says Ayer, who attends St. Peter's Episcopal uptown. "My definition of saving them is helping them ... To give them a second chance at life. Not to bring them to Jesus.""

What a total disappointment.

To be fair, I see something in her words I would agree with. It could be read that her prime motiviation is to get these women out of their current life and not JUST to bring them to Jesus. The same sentiment could be said for feeding the hungry, clothing the poor etc. We do this because Jesus commands it, not because we want to convert them.

this is why women as priests is a mistake. Bishop Duncan is a nice guy but he loves women like this.

Why not just open a brothel? Give them a safe place to work under the auspices of the church, without being judgmental? ;)

From the Article about the lesbian person saving prostitutes:
"Society doesn't want to get their hands dirty with these individuals," Ayer says, "but they're just as worthy for a place at God's table."

That only comes through God. None of us are worthy for a place at God's table, it takes a great act of Mercy to be in the room with God's table.

Without God, there is no table.

Saving them as the world say they should be saved would mean paying better than prostitution pays. Saving them FOREVER is giving them the understanding that what they offer for sale is not worth the money they get.

I hope one of her goals is to get them to give up prostitution, and not just move the whorehouse uptown. Education is great if they find a better line of work.

a lesbian Episcopal priest??? Sighhhhhhh. This priest needs a change by the Spirit of the Lord. Until she is born again, she can't help others. She doesn't understand change until she has experienced herself.

To me, she is like a fox in the henhouse. She will be tempted to draw the other women into her sin.

I used to think about joining the Episcopal church for its history but now...:/
