Yeah, intense . . . guilty. What can I say. Mellowed--even mellowed is still intense. Sigh.

I admit I find difficulty in understanding China's role in the end times or even understanding China in current times.

What do you feel the goals of China are?

It is certainly wise I think to obey core laws of humanity, like the ten
commandments, among other writings. Rules written by man,
about man, and perhaps the best adaption for a healthy society.
Moses laid down some good stuff.

Prophecies on written interpretations seems a great way to keep
our busy neurotic human minds occupied by some relief that will take place.

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

***It mostly feels like a sell out to me though, to think one way is the only way***

A hundred years ago, an average American - someone quite similar to you perhaps - couldn't have imagined uttering those words.

That was before the multi-generation reeducation campaign began with the purpose of convincing the masses of the equality of all religions and ideas. (With the reality being that if all ideas are equal then, in the final analysis, none are objectively true).

Follow this logic.

I doubt you believe ALL "ways" to God are equally acceptable to Him. For example, I doubt you believe that God requires, or is pleased with a person who would throw their infant into a river to be eaten by crocodiles.

I doubt you believe that Satanism is a valid way to God.

I doubt you believe that fanatical, suicidal fundamentalist Islam is a valid way to God.

So we are narrowing down the count here.

There are not an "infinite" number of ways to God. Some "ways" are clearly wrong. If the ways to God are not infinite in number then there are a limited number of ways

Let's say there were 10 valid ways to God (i.e. 10 major world religions). Would that be OK? Or would that evoke a knee-jerk negative response? (No offense to you, but we have all been conditioned to be offended at the idea of "exclusivity" in any shape or form).

If we have already concluded that there must be a limited number of ways, then logically there is nothing wrong with limiting that way to 8, or to 5 or to 2 or even to 1. Especially if that one way is open and available to people of any class, race, intellect, age etc. as Christianity is.

But in the end we must come face to face with the words of Jesus when he said...

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

**Let's say there were 10 valid ways to God...**

Let's say we have no way of telling...expect through written
translated stories of the human condition, said to be written
by this person or that, at this time or that. Pertinent and applicable
behavioral patterns applied to societies over time.

There is more than one way to a persons "eternal peace."
Although...I know, I know, the bible says otherwise.

I look for signs I don't think GOD thinks we should be blinded to the end times if he does he would not have given us the Bible.

Missy,

People have been looking for Christ's return since he ascended. During the black death, at the first millennium, at the stroke of 2000, at WWII, WWI, everyone thought "this is it."

Live the Gospel, spread the Gospel. That's all that matters. God will fulfill everything in His time.

I just had a thought. I use to think what kind of deluded people would rebel against the Lord Christ after 1000 years of his reign? I also have always wondered what kind of mental state does someone have to be in to be a liberal or Post Modernist? I think I just answered my first question.

The expectation of Christ's return is part of the Gospel.

***...what kind of deluded people would rebel against the Lord Christ after 1000 years of his reign?***

The same type that would rebel against the rule of His written will (OT Period) and against the rule of His Spirit through the Church (NT Period).

This type will rebel against His physical, visable rule on earth (Milllenial Period).

So that in the end rebellious mankind will stand utterly condemned before God - in that they rejected His will in every possible way.

Very good point. Sort of destroys the argument of those that say " I will believe if only he appears to me ". If Thomas needed to go further than just looking to believe.

Have you ever read the CS Lewis book "Perelandria?" I read it eons ago and I just did not "get it". Gonna try to give it a read again.

The Abomination that cause Desolation "could" be the after effects of a nuclear bomb.

Many pastors and priest have the following philosophy on the end times.

"Worry about your own end (of your life) if it happens to be everyone else's also, praise be to God".

We don't know the day or the hour, but it is interesting to try to understand prophecy.

Putin is an enigma to me. He is doing some rather interesting things right now, be so far it is primarily from a "Russia first" perspective. He is aligning against Turkey (and there for Israel) because he wants what all the Czars wanted. An warm water route to the Atlantic. Turkey and Israel are allies, and Turkey doesn't want to let Russia have free passage through the Bosporus.
