You are right, of course. Today, there is little sense of history unless it can be massaged to justify current thinking and actions. For example, anything before JPII is dull and deficient if it takes the spotlight off him, forever the actor. Tradition has to be continually reinterpreted to prevent it becoming the Church again. What matters is today .... or maybe the values of tomorrow.
I didn't know that JPII and you were such close personal friends. You sure do know a lot about his intentions.
What I was writing about was the general understanding of "newsworthiness" of course and HAD NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with your response.
