flunked freshman grammar? A garcon at Le Select in Montparnasse told me his father used to serve them on Sunday mornings as they read the Bible together and drank wine. Unfortunately, later in Idaho, ole papa did not
get any comfort or satisfaction from the Bible. He ended it
with a shotgun, you know. Dos Passos, well I don't know about him. All that to say this: never forget where you came from, you may have to go back.
